Strictly Come Dancing 2022 RECAP: 'Electric' Ellie Simmonds a favourite to WIN this year's series, expert claims | The Sun

A body language expert has branded Ellie Simmonds "electric" and said she is one of the clear favourites to win the show, ahead of this week's episode.

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, body language expert Darren Stanton revealed he thinks Ellie could go all the way this year.

“A truly electric performance from this couple, where a simple dance was turned into something that appeared magical and seamless," he said, referring to Ellie's performances last weekend.

"Their energy spoke volumes and it’s clear Ellie has great affection for Nikita. This was clear from her pupil dilation and how comfortable she felt maintaining prolonged eye contact with him during their routine. The two clearly have a strong bond and friendship and Ellie went on to receive some fantastic feedback. I’m sure she is somebody that could potentially be seen in the final.”

Strictly returns today, as the couples take on Movie Week, with hits from Grease and Guardians of the Galaxy set to take centre stage.

Helen explained the awkward incident, where the pair sent photos via AirDrop to a stranger in a cafe.

She told her fans on Instagram: “Wow…careful where you Airdrop kids. This lovely lady thanked us for sending pics of ourselves to her unprompted.”

The TV star, who announced she was expecting her first child with Kevin Clifton in August, looked incredible as she posed for a mirror selfie in her stylish home.

Stacey, 35, opted for a knitted green maxi dress with a cut out that highlighted her bump.

She accessorised the look with some clogs and gold hoop earrings.

Speaking to Janette Manrara on Thursday's episode of It Takes Two, Fleur explained that even she was caught off-guard by her reaction.

She explained: "Yeah, it was intense. I kind of surprised myself but Vito always says this to me, he's like, 'I don't know what you're going to do on the night' because as soon as we're there and like the pressure of everything...

"It was the music, it was the moment. I think everybody probably feels like this in the competition. You work so hard all week, and then you get to that moment and you're just like, 'This is it I need to do this right'. You just feel like all the emotions."

"I feel it even just talking to you!" declared host Janette. "I mean, honestly, it was such a beautiful moment."

The Strictly spin-off It Takes Two returned last night, and fans all had the same question about its set.

One fan said: ” Why do they keep moving the furniture on #Strictly #ItTakesTwo.”

Another wrote: ” Why do the chairs keep changing on the show?”

“Please explain the sofa/chairs settings – Jeanette colour matched now she’s contrast coloured. My brain can’t keep up,” another viewer complained.

A fourth tweeted: ” This is so bizarre, what’s happening with the seating tonight?”

While a fifth wrote: ” I don’t what’s going on with the seating on the show, it’s very confusing.”

The actor said he loves a “success” story, and has found encouragement in the 1976 film.

He told The Sun: “I love the story of someone coming from nothing and making a success of life because that’s sort of how I grew up.”

“I grew up with this dream in my mind, on an estate in a place where no one did this, and really believed in myself’.

“I had support from the family but people would put me down… but saying you can’t do something only makes me stronger.”

Shirley Ballas believes Strictly made the wrong decision last week, as Matt Goss overcame Kaye Adams to stay on the show.

During an appearance on BBC’s The One Show, the ballroom legend said: “I just felt on the evening both couples made mistakes, but the quality of Kaye was far superior.

“I was absolutely mortified that she left, to be quite honest.”

Shirley added: “I love my fellow judges and we’re all there to do a job but, in my opinion, that was one they didn’t quite get right.”

James Bye, and his partner Amy Dowden, took to Instagram this week to discuss their upcoming performance on Saturday, and the pro dancer couldn’t help but laugh at the soap star’s “dad dancing.”

The pair will perform Hooked on a Feeling from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

“If you know the film, he loves his sort of dad dancing, the sort of shapes he’s chucking around,” James said.

Referring to his dad dancing, Amy, 32, joked: “You’re good at that aren’t you.,” to which James replied: “Yes…I sort of do that now really.”

Body language expert Darren Stanton has had his say on who will be next to exit the hit show, and it might not be who you expect.

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, Darren said: “It’s clear Ellie Taylor works hard and wants to get as far as possible in the competition, however, I don’t see a strong enough bond between her and Johannes which other contestants have already shown with their partners – sometimes it’s just down to basic chemistry.

“I’m not saying there’s any particular issues between the couple, but there’s a certain ingredient that needs to be present for a deep rapport, and this is ultimately lacking in their performance.

“Craig especially scored them quite low, so hopefully they can resolve the connection issues they seem to be displaying and win him over.

“I am predicting another potential early exit for Ellie, but again, it all comes down to the public vote on how they perceive her progress.”

The singer broke down in tears after an emotional Viennese Waltz to Glimpse Of Us by Joji.

Appearing on It Takes Two last night, Fluer explained why.

She said: "Yeah, it was intense. I kind of surprised myself but Vito always says this to me, he's like, 'I don't know what you're going to do on the night' because as soon as we're there and like the pressure of everything...

From famous soundtracks like the late Olivia Newton-John’s Hopelessly Devoted To You from Grease, to Jurassic Park, this week is going to be an exciting one.

Craig, who is usually known for his harsh ratings, has been blown away by Hamza on this year’s series of Strictly.

The Countryfile host has been so impressive, the long-time judge thinks he may have previous dance training.

Craig told Best magazine: “Hamza is blowing me away. Either he’s had dance experience or he’s just … a genius!

“He’s doing proper heel leads, and now he’s shown he can do Latin, too. Some people do surprise you.

“His dancing isn’t flashy, it’s just technically brilliant. Just WOW!”

Nikita Kuzmin is shaking off his break-up and is throwing himself into work – sharing videos of him in training with Paralympian Ellie Simmonds.

Nikita opted to ignore his relationship struggles to instead share time with Ellie, who was seen hilariously cracking under the pressure of the rehearsal room.

Fans seem unhappy with Hamza being given Jurassic Park.

One fan said: “So many cha cha chas. Also a rumba to Juarassic park how will that work ? I think Hamza and Tony are in danger they are very difficult dances.”

Another added: “My Good Lord, what a bunch of odd choices! A Rumba to the Jurassic Park theme? Romancing the Dinosaurs now?”

The BBC introduced a new category in 2018 which includes contemporary, street and commercial or theatre and jazz dance.

However, viewers have spotted that the category is missing this year and panicked that it's been removed.

One fan speculated: "In the last three series, we’ve had Couple's Choice come in in either Week 2 or 3.

"With the dances now having been released for this week, it appears that there’s no Couples Choice yet this year. This raises the question: do we think the BBC have axed Couples Choice due to the largely negative perception last year?"

Strictly will return to our screens in just three days time.

Once again the show will be live on BBC One from 6:30pm.

It’ will be time to roll out the red carpet as Strictly Come Dancing takes you to the movies.

Opening the show, the professional dancers bring Casa Madrigal to the ballroom in an epic Encanto-inspired routine.

Strictly fans can tune in tonight for It Takes Two on ITV to have an exclusive first look at how some of the celebrities are coping with their new dances.

Janette Manrara will guide fans through all the backstage ballroom action, with more couples stopping by for a chat.

Sam Boswell from BetVictor said: "Matt Goss is 2/1 to be voted out next, after the musician was in the bottom two against Loose Women star Kaye Adams last weekend. Close behind them is Tony Adams at 5/2, despite being bottom of the leaderboard, they were saved from the dance-off by the public vote last week. Let’s see how Tony and Matt perform for this weekend’s movie week!”

Gorka Marquez, partnered with Helen Skelton, was disappointed as his weekend didn’t quite go the way he had planned.

After a long week of training with Helen, Gorka told his Instagram followers that he couldn’t wait to have a relaxing weekend with his family.

He said:  “Just came home from yesterday’s Strictly and I was so excited to see Gemma and Mia. I thought we were going to chill on Sunday, watch a movie and she’s [Gemma] like, ‘Oo I’ve got plans for us!”

So I was very excited for those plans and she told me we’re going to… design a new kitchen.” As Gorka turned the camera to Gemma she said: “We’re going to pick a new kitchen, well, it’s not going to choose itself, sweet cheeks.”
