Arguing that global cooperation is required more than ever in the face of growing security challenges, Japan and India have agreed to step up military and economic ties, adding to an already robust strategic partnership.

During “two-plus-two” talks held on Thursday in Tokyo, the nations’ foreign and defense ministers agreed to step up both military cooperation and exchanges, announcing the launch of high-level talks between the Japan Joint Staff and the Indian Integrated Defence Staff.
