We have a new topper in our charts. Meet the LS720 WH AIO from DeepCool with excellent thermal performance, stunning digital lighting, and simplified cable management. This is hard to ignore cooling solution and comes recommended by us.

DeepCool has released a new AIO series under the Infinity Series LS naming convention in their Prime Tier 1 product category. The LS series is taking over the previously famous Castle series. DeepCool has sent us the LS720 WH AIO for testing. This cooler comes with a fourth-generation pump and DeepCool’s new FC series white fans.

The block design is different than the Castle series coolers yet it retains the A-RGB LED lighting on the block and the plate cover is provided as well so that user can put on their own logo for backlight illumination. The cooler is compatible with the Intel LGA1700/1200/115x/20xx and AMD AM4/AM5/sTR4/sTRX4 sockets.

The cooler is shipped inside a cardboard box.

DeepCool has changed the packing theme a while ago and this cooler follows that scheme. There is a flyer cover over the cardboard box. The cooler features the Anti-Leak technology which was introduced with the Castle and Captain V2 series earlier.

The specifications of the cooler are printed over here. DeepCool has been highlighting Anti-Leak technology for some time and this cooler is no exception. They have shed some light on this technology over here.

The cooler and mounting hardware is tucked inside an egged carton for maximum safety during traveling. The accessories are placed inside the box whereas the fans are inside the transparent covers.

DeepCool has provided a comprehensive user guide for ease of installation.

There is an Intel backplate that is not metallic. It has standoffs pre-installed which reduces the installation steps.

DeepCool has provided a frosted plate on which the user can place the customized logo. This plate is then placed over the block for backlit illumination. I appreciate the level of customization though OLED display-enabled AIOs are also in the market but with hefty price tags. The size of this plate is 42x42mm and the scale of logo printing is 1:1.

The Deepcool LS720 WH is a 360mm CLC cooling solution. It has a 360mm radiator with three FC120 WHITE A-RGB fans.

The dimension of the radiator is 402 x 120 x 27mm. The thickness of the radiator is 27mm. With 25mm fans, the overall thickness would be 53mm by incorporating the heads of the screws. The radiator has a 22 FPI count. There is a gap of 105mm between any two fan mounting holes on the radiator.

The radiator is made of aluminum hence it is lightweight. This is Deepcool’s own design. The blocks on both ends of the radiator are rectangular. Fin stack is dense and taking into account the left and right side channels, it has a total of 12 channels for water flow. There is a DeepCool logo on the tube side.

There are no protective sheets over the fins under the fan mounts. So, take care while mounting the fans as longer screws could damage the fins which would hamper the performance of the cooler. It is recommended to use the supplied long screws to mount the fans onto the radiators.

The right side of the radiator has a pressure release valve at the bulkhead side. Deepcool has installed an elastic-based pressure-released bag on the outlet side of the radiator. One side of this bag is dipped in the coolant whereas the other side is exposed to the air. When the internal pressure reached the atmospheric pressure or exceeds it the bag will be squeezed. This would increase the internal volume of the loop and would cause increased pressure to be released in the air through the valve. This would reduce the risk of leakage in the AIO owing to the increased internal pressure.

The far head of the radiator has a sticker pasted on it as can be seen in the above picture. This is not an Asetek design.

The above picture shows a close view of the fins. DeepCool has done a good job in the overall finishing with the E shape fins.

This cooler is using two barbed fittings with metallic covers for reinforcement and better aesthetics. Also, take note of the plastic-made white color tube holder. DeepCool has provided 2x such holders which are easy to remove and their position can be adjusted as well.

We have a full-length white color tube in this cooler. The soft tubing is made from upgraded anti-explosion rubber tubes manufactured using an anti-corrosion, crush resistant and thermostable material. The soft material tubing is flexible and doesn’t produce kinking which is always a plus. Deepcool is using mesh sleeves on the hoses to give them clean look. The length of the tube is approximately 410mm.

Let’s take a look at the main element of this cooler. It is the water block with the pump housing. This cooler has changed the overall outlook compared to the footprint of the Castle series coolers.

The block has a size of 85x74x57mm. Compare to the dimension of the block of the Castle V2 series cooler 91x79x47mm, we can see that overall height and depth are reduced in the LS series. There is a highly reflective glass top covered with a protective sheet. There is a top cover in the center of the glass top. This cover is removable and has DeepCool branding in one corner. This plate can be removed and rotated so that the placement of the DeepCool logo is always in the right spot.

The above picture shows the block with the top lid removed. We can see a glimpse of the PCB underneath. The user can remove this top lid to rotate the logo as per requirement or use the additionally provided cover plate for customized logos.

The tubes are installed in a 90° mount on the base of the block so that they can be rotated as per the requirement to the left or right side position. Two cables are coming out of the pump housing.

The pump housing has a 3-pin power cable and a proprietary 6-pin A-RGB connector cable. Please note that this 6-pin cable is the same as is on the FC White edition fans. These fans are using the daisy-chain concept with an onboard header and a single cable per fan.

The left, right, and front sides of the block don’t have branding or design elements on them. The complete housing is finished in black color.

The pump has a rated speed of 3100±RPM which is higher than 2550±10% RPM on Castle V2 series coolers, at 12VDC rated voltage. Power consumption is 5.64 Watts using 0.47A current. The noise level is rated at 19 dB(A).

Let’s take a look at the base of the block. The base has a size of 53x53mm approximately which is quite large given the size of CPU IHS that we will be using for the testing. The unit comes with the pre-applied thermal paste. Notice the 4x mounting holes on the base surrounding the housing. This is where the mounting brackets are installed.

The LS720 WH comes with 3x FC120 WH A-RGB fans. We have done dedicated content for these fans which can be found here. These fans feature a square frame which certainly adds more to the bold yet stylish look of the cooler. Each fan has 9 translucent blades. The A-RGB LEDs are housed inside the center which is why it has a larger diameter. There is a white color sticker on the center with DeepCool branding. Each mounting corner has a cut-to-size anti-vibration rubber pad.

The frame of the fan is quite sturdy. One side of the frame has an arrow marking showing the direction in which the blades spin and the other side has another arrow marking showing the direction of airflow. Notice the header right behind the cable of the fan. It has 5 pins. The concept is simple. Each fan can be daisy-chained with the other fan using this header and at the end, only one cable will be further connected to the source using the bundled cables.

Looking at the back of the fan, we can see a 4-arms assembly holding the blades and the center. The fans are made in China. One of the arms has widened body as it carries the power cable.

We have a white color flat cable with a proprietary 6-pin connector.

DeepCool has provided two cables in the accessory box. One cable extends the length of the cable coming from the daisy-chained fans whereas the other cable connects the solution with the 4-pin PWM header and a standard 3-pin 5V header on the motherboard. It is SATA powered.

The salient specifications of the fans are:

There is no dedicated A-RGB controller provided with the cooler. There is no hub provided with the cooler either. The terminal connectors are 4-pin PWM and 3-pin, 5V, A-RGB ones. The A-RGB lighting is compatible with:

In case, the fans and the block are not connected to the light source, the cooler features Auto RGB in which the rainbow mode is activated by default and it cycles through the pre-defined modes. Here are some pictures for your eye’s pleasure.

The installation is simple and convenient. We need 11 components to set up the mounting hardware for the block.

DeepCool has mentioned that this cooler will offer better performance in 6’o clock mounting i.e the tube side on the block facing the PCIe slot. They have mentioned using this orientation, particularly on the Intel 12th gen platform. The reason is that the jet plate aligns with the cores on the Intel 12th gen chips for which the slotting and splitting work in tandem for maximum heat transfer.

To verify that claim, we have also tested the cooler in 3’o clock mounting i.e the tube on the block facing the DIMM slot.

The cooler is an AIO that has no clearance issue for the RAM and PCIe slot. However, make sure that your case supports 360mm AIO. The dimension of the radiator without fans is 402x120x27mm (LxWxH).

The following test bench is used: –

Here is the settings table for testing:

Not every run of the stress test may yield the same result. This could well be due to many factors like mounting pressure, thermal paste application and varying ambient temperature. Not to mention the silicon differences even among the same category of chips. Hence, it is pertinent to mention the testing methodology along with the specifics.

At 3’o clock orientation, the LS720 WH sits at par with the Fractal Design Lumen S36 RGB cooler. The Fractal cooler has been our top performer so far in the testing. When the LS720 WH was installed in the 6’o clock orientation, we saw an improvement of 2°C over the 3’o clock orientation and the Fractal cooler. Additionally, we noted that LS720 WH in 6’o clock orientation is giving above 4°C better thermal performance compared to the DeepCool Castle 360EX WH A-RGB cooler. This is remarkable, making the LS720 WH the new top performer in our charts.

We are not measuring the noise level at the moment due to environmental noise which is beyond our control. The fans are loud at full speed and I would suggest PWM Auto control or a custom fan curve.

DeepCool has released a new Infinity series AIOs named LS. They have released 120mm, 240mm, and 360mm versions. This series is using DeepCool’s 4th generation pump featuring a powerful 3-phase motor driving up to 3100 RPM±10% which is further enhanced by using an improved micro-channel design and thick copper base. When the cooler is installed in 6’0 clock orientation, the slot position of the split plate is parallel to the CPU die. This enhances the maximum heat transfer as compared to installing the cooler in any other orientation.

We have tested the DeepCool LS720 WH which is a 360mm CLC solution. Everything about this cooler is White in color except that the mounting screws which are silver in color. The dimension of the aluminum-made radiator is 402x127x27mm. The thickness of the radiator is 27mm which would be 53mm approximately with the fans. The FPI count is 22.

DeepCool is using Anti-Leak technology on this cooler as well. We saw that with their V2 of the Castle coolers. The soft tubing is made from upgraded anti-explosion rubber tubes manufactured using an anti-corrosion, crush resistant and thermostable material. The soft material tubing are bit flexible and don’t produce kinking which is always a plus. Deepcool is using mesh sleeves on the hoses to give them clean look.

The block is also in the white color and this time, DeepCool has come up with a different outlook on the pump block. The dimension of the pump block is 85x74x57mm. This time we have less height of the block compared to the Castle series coolers. The top feature dual-loop A-RGB lighting in an infinity mirror design. The top cover is removable so that the DeepCool logo can be rotated. A blank cover plate is also provided on which the user can print and paste the customized pictures logos etc (42x42mm size, 1:1 scale). The base measures 53x53mm approximately. The block comes with the pre-applied thermal paste on the copper base.

The power consumption of the pump is 5.64 Watts using 0.47A current. The noise level is rated at 19 dB(A). The Deepcool has provided three FC120 WHITE A-RGB fans with this cooler. These fans are rated for 0.29A at 12VDC drawing the power of 3.48W. The fan speed is 500 ~ 2250±10% RPM. Maximum airflow on 12VDC is 85.85CFM. The noise level is rated at <32.9 dB(A). The maximum static pressure is 3.27mmAq. The fans are using the Fluid Dynamic Bearings.

The installation is simple and we have to deal with 11 components to install the pump block on the CPU. The Fans and the block are daisy-chained. DeepCool has provided a SATA-enabled cable that connects the daisy-chained solution to the 4-pin PWM header and the standard 3-pin, 5V headers on the motherboard.

The LS720 WH has an MSRP of USD 140. The regional prices would vary. Deepcool is offering 5 years limited warranty on these coolers. The DeepCool LS720 WH has performed remarkably well on Intel i7 12700k and we saw a thermal difference of up to 2°C against the like of Fractal Design Lumen S36 RGB and above 4°C against the Castle V2 series cooler.

The overall noise output is high and we would suggest using auto PWM or a custom fan curve for the fans. The A-RGB lighting was tested using GIGABYTE RGB FUSION 2 and it was working flawlessly with brilliant lighting on the pump block and the fans.

We are thankful to DeepCool for the provision of the testing unit.
