Huron County men face multiple charges after task force arrests

Two Huron County men face multiple drug charges after they were arrested Thursday as a result of an investigation by the Huron County Drug Task Force. According to a press release from the Huron County Sheriff’s Department, law enforcement officers served two residential search warrants on Thursday and arrested Randal D. Nitz, 56, of Sebewaing, and Aron E. Kemp, 46, of Unionville, during which drugs, cash and drug paraphernalia were seized.

Two Huron County men face multiple drug charges after they were arrested Thursday as a result of an investigation by the Huron County Drug Task Force.

According to a press release from the Huron County Sheriff’s Department, law enforcement officers served two residential search warrants on Thursday and arrested Randal D. Nitz, 56, of Sebewaing, and Aron E. Kemp, 46, of Unionville, during which drugs, cash and drug paraphernalia were seized.

Nitz has been charged with two felony counts of delivery of methamphetamine, and Kemp is charged with one count of delivery of methamphetamine, one felony count of delivery of cocaine, one felony count of maintaining a drug house and one count of felony firearm for possession of pneumatic guns in the commission of a felony.

During searches of Nitz’s home on Unionville Road and Kemp’s residence on Forest Road, officers seized a variety of items, including cash, scales, drug-packaging materials, surveillance equipment, pneumatic guns as well as meth and cocaine with a street value of about $4,000.

Huron County Sheriff Kelly Hanson said the investigation continues and additional charges are possible.

Nitz and Kemp have been arraigned and both are lodged in the Huron County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond.

The task force was assisted by Huron County Sheriff’s deputies, members of the Bad Axe Police Department and the village of Sebewaing Police.
