Time to double the price so that trashy people will leave and go to places like Six Flags or Universal.
They quadupled the prices since i was last there in 2003.
I love Disney, but the guests make it awful to be there. The cast members do their best under appalling guest behavior. I’m afraid of massacre happening soon with all the anger in such a wonderful place

It doesn’t matter what income level one has . I’ve seen many high paid individuals behave poorly! It’s just a matter of being respectful to one another. Hold your temper. Otherwise be ready to be escorted out of the park period!! And don’t steal a place in line ever!! Or suffer consequences!!

I don’t want to make this another knee-jerk disgruntled-guest post about “It’s all Chapek’s fault for raising the prices!”, but frankly, if you look at it closely…it IS:
Putting the experience out of the range of popular prices means that guests are now “risking it all” on the “only” vacation they’ll get for a few years– Which creates more of a survivalist “I got mine!” mentality among the guests that they have to grab all the experiences they can while they have the chance, and if any other interfering guests or cast members create hitches to ruin it, that’s their problem.
I remember when it was this bad under Paul Pressler in the early 00’s, the same guest malaise set in, and moms were at each others’ throats trying to get princess-breakfast rezzies. And then, whenever anyone complained about their barging behavior, tried to defend it with “Well, the company DESERVES it for what they charge, the greedy bums!…We should give them the shaft, for a change!”
Kudos for remembering Paul Pressler. He’s the one who started all this declining by degrees of the Disney parks. There’s a big reason why his brick in the Disneyland esplanade along with that of his successor Cynthia Harriss right next to it have both been graffitied, spat on, and even peed on over the years. I’m not kidding about that last one. Kids need to know who Pressler and Harriss are and the damage they caused. Cheapek is a second Pressler.
The reason I can’t agree is that I see people still going 6-7 times a year. I think it makes sense with the crowding, waiting, elitism. People go to Disney to escape. And they end up in a worse space, standing around, crowded, hot, miserable.
I feel like this behavior has definitely become a problem over the last few years. People everywhere are being more ignorant and arrogant, rude, racist, and just plain nasty. I’ve seen fights happening at Disney, Sesame Place, even Walmart over nothing in front of children. I don’t know what they’re putting in the water these days but times are crazy now.
The one thing that fueled Trump’s election in ’16 was his creating a fantasy world for the downtrodden where the Bullies and Internet Trolls would Finally Inherit the Earth, and get to boss around those mucky-muck goody-two-shoes for a change… Fox News, of course, tried to keep that mentality going to insure re-election, and still convinces large sections of the population that it’s some bad person’s FAULT if they don’t get what they want, and those people can be beaten up if there’s a big enough gang on the playground.

Please, can’t we leave politics out of this? There are rude, inconsiderate people of ALL walks of life, income levels, genders, nationalities, etc. I am sure a lot of people who fit these rude categories aren’t thinking of their political affiliation, or any of the multitude of other categories they may/may not fit into when they choose to act/react the way that they do. Society, in general, has just become more entitled and go overboard to get what they want.

Guests that are usually involved in these scraps are going into this vacation with entitlement syndrome. If you have no patience, an amusement park of any sort is not for you.

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, Looks like some people are living under rocks. Or I guess if you keep telling yourself over and over again that things are going great you finally believe it? Blaming someone that has not been in office for over two years for what is happening now? Get real. Playing identity politics (which is what is going on now) is what causes this divide. Disney is pushing the same thing by pandering to activist groups and ignoring family values. Is there an alternate universe where there are a significant number of Republicans running around burning down cities, breaking laws etc. etc. because it is not the one most of us are living in. By all means let us Republicans know where your getting your gas that does not cost $5 gallon or the cheap groceries we can buy for our family so we can save up for a Disney trip. We are grown ups and do not need someone giving us a hug every day (we are workers who have had to deal with strict employers). We are all for giving a helping hand up but not hand outs. Follow good policy so we can all better support our families and being rude every so often while your doing it is not a major concern (words will never hurt you, if you do not like what someone is saying stop listening). A better policy or policies would be anything that is in the opposite direction as to what is going on now. Desantis (a Republican) can only do so much to offset bad policy at a higher level. Show your displeasure as to what our country has become in just a couple of short years and vote accordingly in November.
Bravo! Well said. Interesting that the responses here are almost as nasty as the guest behavior the article is addressing. There is a lot of stress in the world right now, and for many people, taking what has become an extravagant vacation during this time of high inflation, high gas prices, lack of baby formula, etc….is just not what they want to do. But, the trip was planned and paid for (mostly) months ago and the kids really want to go….probably even the other parent in the family. Lots of stress…. We all need to extend grace and patience to each other.

They need to come down on the idiots who don’t know how to act. Kick them out and ban them and call the police. If people have to pay for their stupid actions, and word gets around that it won’t be tolerated then the idiots will either act right or stay home. I only go on tier 6 days as a dream key pass holder and evil is still prevalent. I had one nice evenening there New Years Eve and thats it. Cast members are bad and guests are bad and cost does not matter.
Before we condemn all the people. Let’s be perfectly clear. Disney itself will escort you to the head of every ride in the park for the honor of paying a cast member 100/hr 6 hour minimum escort fee. Entitled people getting special treatment for being rich is ridiculous and part of the problem. Cast members earning 19 an hour while the park collects the rest for its profit margin.
So the rudeness even exists on the forum. We have several issues that all contribute to this issue. These are not ranked it is just a list of observations I have made and others as well. 1. Many people have forgotten how to socialize after being locked down for so long. 2. People have been losing personal responsibility for many years. I think it has grown to this point. It is always someone elses fault. This is a top down thing just look at some of the comments and you will see that the President blames others for their failures. his has been going on since Obama really started doing it in his first term and partly in his second term. 3. The cost of a trip to any Disney Park contributes to point number Two. 4. The lack of crowd control at Disney parks. There was a reason Disney parks had large shows throughout the parks. They are designed to capture large groups of people to control the lines on rides. With the elimination of those the lines have become unmanageable. 5. The lack of cleanliness and upkeep of the parks. This is a sign to people that no one cares about them and their money so the in turn they really don’t care and that is reflected in their behaviors. I will finish this off with the Chapek is not a leader he is an incompetent fool and is in way over his head.
When people lay out the kind of cash it takes for a Disney vacation, they expect a great vacation. When they spend that kind of money and get a dollar store experience, tempers are bound to get testy. Still no excuse to start throwing down haymakers tho.
Years ago there were about 20 people standing in line for the bathroom 2 girls teenager walked past ever one standing in line to go to the bathroom. Nope, I was the only one who said something to them every one else talked to each other. Speak up!!! They did not cut in front of the rest of us. While watching the Villain parade a few people thought they were going to stand in front of us. We had waited for the parade. When I told one of them no she sat down which would have been fine but she sat her self on my feet!!! I wanted to kick her. Her friend was behind my guy and held her tablet IN FRONT of his face so she could film the parade. I don’t care where you are from:. YOU HAVE LINES THERE TOO.. YOU DO NOT SIT ON SOME ONES FEET… OR PUT YOUR TABLET IN FRONT OF SOME ONES FACE!!!!
Bernie Sanders bragged how Disney was persuaded to be the first highest paying employer. With the bucks sure they can figure out how to solve the parks problems. A sister of a friend, Disney World, got sick of of the crap. Was going to leave at end of summer, decided to quit now. She got job in town, and is making more after years with Disney. My dad took us to Disney a fee yrs after it opened in Florida. Disney originally made it affordable for all families to enjoy. A time when respect, decency, love, honesty, patience, common sense , most people had. A different Era. Now, we are self serving, impatient, greedy, all common sense is oit the window. If it doesn’t happen fast as we want it, if we don’t get it first we get angry and start fights. Not all of us , but many. Listen to the lyrics and role models for children. A social media society that glorifies alcohol vapping, gang involvement, half naked people, cussing. It starts with parents and what they teach their children and the behaviors are children see .

Wow…well I can’t much say for any of this drama, there are a lot of good points in this forum so I won’t repeat all of this but I have to say this…from someone that has my mother retired from Disney after 21y there, from my self after 14y there, my husband after 4y, my ex after 8y…after working at Universal for 7y and SeaWorld for 4y… Cast members n employees of these parks get paid terrible, expensive benefits, mosttimes very nasty coworkers or worse ppl trying to do overtime that don’t have a clue, in hot muggy humid conditions, moskito infested swamplands…then to top it off all this drama…minimum wage that doesn’t allow you to afford a single bill, it takes 8 people in one household to live in ghettos w nothing but a broken down car, insane prices of everything n alltho we used to be told to leave our home drama at home, nowadays that unrealistic… As a guest I had my cast I’d but once I was gone it was annual passes, it still was a mint to visit n this I’m talking about before 2011…politics didn’t change the fact that this is all out of the reach of most people specially those locals that the parks rely on for the off seasons…the insane restrictions are beyond reasonable n the price n complexity of trying to set up just a day trip are sureal… Disney most of all seems to be opening mouth step foot in first…they have inserted politics into what was supposed to be an innocent, magical wonderland where everything is supposed to go right n now expectations are beyond high for the many reasons mentioned here but if u are going for broke and you have this one chance n things start going wrong n not a single cast member is motivated to help then u have a build up of tension that has to release somehow… What is worse, I can guarantee, just watch n wait…more incidents n accidents, closed n abandoned rides n shows…less bang for your buck…it’s been building, I could see thru the years how everyone cared less about quality n respect n soon it will all be wrenched n just like a clock…it won’t work… Personally I told my family n my family agrees…we decided that we were boycotting Disney…they haven’t cared in decades, quality n safety are in reality in the back burner for when things go wrong so they can say, we were correct, we were safe n in reality those in charge of these things r so affected that these companies can’t really go 100% on those statements but for the money n attorney they do, the only thing that has ever matter is profits n just like a casino, they r the only ones ever winning… Finally, society as a whole is declining, we need to stop looking outward at who to blame n start by fixing our own minds n emotional state because ultimately it’s a personal choice…I’m not denying contributing factors, but it needs to start w ourselves n quit thinking it’s ok to act out because others are doing it n worry about our own selves not our neighborhood or coworkers…not what is going on, not what everyone says it should be…what is the proper way if acting??? What is the right n correct thing to do n be???

Let less people in daily. There must be a limit. Lower price cause you are already making billions even at 50.00 a guest. Less stress, happy people….you know, like long ago. Bigger is not always best. Walt Disney is up on a cloud shaking his head!
Just returned from a Disneyworld vacation. Absolutely do not like the lightening lane addition. The whole purpose of a vacation is to disconnect from our social devices and be all about family. Not possible. So much stress in planning, etc. could be why guests have a short fuse. Too many unhappy moments for the ‘happiest place on earth’. Way too expensive for average family. Walt must be turning in his grave. This was our last trip.
